# BPC-157 and KPV for IBD, Crohn's Disease, and Colitis: Preclinical Evidence Review

## What it is
BPC-157 is a chain of 15 amino acids taken from a protein found in stomach juice. KPV is a short chain of three amino acids taken from a larger hormone. Both are studied in gut-damage models. Neither is approved as a drug.

## How it works
BPC-157 is linked to blood-vessel growth and cell movement to injury sites. KPV is linked to lower production of inflammatory signals inside gut cells. One study showed KPV travels through a gut transporter called PepT1. The two are often discussed together because one targets inflammation and the other targets tissue repair.

## Why it would work (logic chain)
Step 1: Ongoing inflammation damages the gut wall.  
Step 2: Damaged wall lets more triggers in, so inflammation stays high.  
Step 3: If inflammation drops and new cells can move in and form vessels, the wall can close.  
Step 4: BPC-157 is studied for the vessel and cell-migration part. KPV is studied for the inflammation-drop part.  
Step 5: If both steps happen at once, the cycle of damage may slow.

## Why people take it
People with Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, or colitis symptoms look for options when standard drugs do not fully stop flares or when they want to try something aimed at tissue repair. They read about the two peptides being used together for gut lining and inflammation control.
