The Convergence
The Convergence
System notes
The universe has a directional bias in configuration space — the grain — favoring a small family of structural solutions (branching, spiraling, waving, symmetry, flow, critical balance, memory, scale-echo) across every scale and substrate.
Order is not against entropy; order is entropy's most efficient instrument. Negentropy persists only when it accelerates the dissipation of the driving gradient.
The eight patterns are not merely analogous; they are the same mathematical solutions to different gradient-dissipation problems, converging from independent starting points across 22+ orders of magnitude.
The authorship question (whether the grain is authored or emergent) is open, load-optional, and non-load-bearing. The operational claim — the grain is real, legible, and plottable — survives either resolution.
Seven limit theorems (No-Free-Lunch, Arrow's impossibility, Gödel's incompleteness, Bell's theorem, computational irreducibility, anthropic deflation, independence problem) bound the convergence thesis but do not destroy it.
