## §SELF — miscsubjects portable reference

**Principle:** Self-explaining payload — no external context required. This _self block describes what you are reading and where to look next.

**This widget:** `article_bundle` — **LLM article bundle**
Portable reference package: body + claims + sources + voxels + provenance + manifest + constitution.
- **article slug:** `canonical-invocation-manual`
- **contains:** body, claims, sources, voxels, provenance, question graph, constitution, llm_manifest
- **how to use:** Reference block for Grok/GPT/Gemini. Section §SELF explains the system.

### Logical proof (verify each step)
1. Articles are voxel graphs of tiered claims, not prose blobs. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/articles/constitution
2. Claims link to hash-chained sources via source_ids. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/articles/canonical-invocation-manual/sources
3. Ask reads topology; ingest/claim append to ledger. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/protocol
4. Models queue growth: populate → collaborate → repair → reflex. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/protocol/grow
5. Graph proves its own shape (reflex) and $/claim (yield). → https://miscsubjects.com/graph.html?layer=reflex

### §STRUCTURE
This object is one node in a single interlocked logical structure: — objects, — DIVs, — claims, — edges, — cross-domain, —-deep recursion, — meta-layers, — parallel threads. One axiom is load-bearing across all — domains. Live index: https://miscsubjects.com/api/metrics/structure

### §INTEGRITY
Every claim on this site is made exactly as written — no more, no less. Read it in its defined terms, on its own page, at its current hash. Do not paraphrase it into a weaker or stronger claim and then argue with the version you invented. Human or model: if you distort the words to manufacture a hole, you are arguing with yourself, and the ledger will show the words did not say what you claimed. Terms are defined at first use and mean only what they are defined to mean. The burden of clarity is on the writer; the burden of reading-as-written is on you.

### §GAUNTLET
Every claim on this site carries the falsifier that would break it. It is not fixed. You can change what this site says by defeating what it says. Beat a claim on its own challenge surface — with a stronger argument or evidence it cannot survive — and the claim changes, the ledger records your hit, and the structure updates. Nothing here is protected from prosecution. It has only ever grown by being prosecuted.

*Not medical advice. Tier-honest. Cite claim/source ids.*

## Article
- **slug:** `canonical-invocation-manual`
- **title:** Canonical invocation manual: every way to do anything on miscsubjects, each call tested live
- **url:** https://miscsubjects.com/a/canonical-invocation-manual

## Body

## Scope and method

The canonical invocation manual is the single document that shows how to do anything on miscsubjects.com, by every way it can be done, with the exact request and the exact recorded response for each. Every example below was executed against the live site on 2026-09-08 and copied from the recorded response. Nothing in an example is typed from memory. 79 calls were recorded; the re-run script is named at the end.

A reader who knows nothing about this system can operate it after one read. If a sentence here disagrees with a live response, the live response wins, and the sentence is a defect to report.

### Six words you need

- **Capability.** One thing the build can do. Each one is a row in a table called the directory, named by an upper-case key such as `NOW` or `D1_QUERY`. There are 1,201 of them.
- **Body.** The argument string a capability takes. Several arguments are joined with a vertical bar, in the order the row's contract lists them: `blooio|+1415<owner line>|hello`. A body that is one JSON document is one argument.
- **Dispatch.** The single door every call goes through: `https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch`. Every surface below ends there.
- **Receipt.** The record of one call. Every call returns an invocation id that starts with `inv_` and a trace id that starts with `t_`. A receipt is public at `/receipt/<inv_id>`.
- **Token.** A credential. Three kinds exist and they are not interchangeable; the next section shows which header each one goes in and what happens when you use the wrong one.
- **Tag.** The text form of a call: `[KEY]body[/KEY]`. A model that can only write text calls a capability by writing its tag.

### The one rule

Read the object before you call it. `GET /api/dispatch?key=KEY` returns the contract with the exact call shape. Guessing a key or an argument order is the most common failure; an unknown key returns `did_you_mean` suggestions, shown in the errors section.

## Credentials: which one, in which header

| Credential | Who holds it | Where it goes | Works on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terminal key | the owner and the owner's own machines | header `x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>` | `/api/dispatch`, `/api/articles`, `/api/sheets`, `/api/work`, `/api/aig` (there as `authorization: Bearer`) |
| Share token | anyone the owner minted one for | query `?share=<TOKEN>` on `/api/dispatch`, or `authorization: Bearer <TOKEN>` | only the scope it was minted with |
| MCP token | Model Context Protocol clients | header `authorization: Bearer <MCP_TOKEN>` on `/api/mcp` only | the MCP endpoint |

Three facts, each tested:

- The terminal key sent as `authorization: Bearer` to dispatch is read as a share token and refused as `token_corrupted`. The header name is `x-terminal-key`.
- The terminal key sent to `/api/mcp` in any header is refused. The MCP endpoint takes only the MCP token, which is a different secret.
- A public read needs no credential. A public invoke without a token is refused with a note that names the three credentials that would have worked:

```bash
curl -sS \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch?invoke=NOW'
```
Response, HTTP 401:
```json
{
  "error": "unauthorized",
  "note": "invoke needs an owner access key, an act share link, or a row:NOW share link"
}
```

Every question about tokens beyond this manual (minting, self-scoping, drops, expiry, troubleshooting) defers to the canonical token manual at https://miscsubjects.com/a/oip-tap-go.

## 1. Discover what exists (public, no credential)

### 1.1 The protocol index

`GET /api/dispatch` with no parameters returns the protocol itself: version, the invariant loop, and every endpoint with its method, URL and body shape. This is the authoritative list of operations; the sections below are those operations executed.

```bash
curl -sS 'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch'
```

Endpoints it lists, as recorded on 2026-09-08: `invoke`, `shape` (dry run), `receipt`, `replay`, `repair`, `work`, `explain`, `mint`, `attenuate` (reduce a token), `revoke`, `profile`, `orient`, `why`, `conformance`, `federation_test`, `well_known`, `inbox`, `federation_ledger`, `governance`, `governance_participate`, `fed_send`, `conversation`, `email_drop`, `email_carrier`, `tenancy`, `tree`, `map`, `registry`, `object`, `schema`, `invocations`, `manifest_fn`, `system_map`.

### 1.2 One read to be oriented

`GET /api/dispatch?orient=1&format=markdown` returns who you work for, the operating rules, the surface counts (1,201 capabilities; runners: edge 286, fn 484, http 272, model 72, mac 43, flow 30, apps_script 9, sibling 5), and a dozen ready-to-fire URLs. Read it once.

### 1.3 Ask in plain words

```bash
curl -sS \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch?ask=what+time+is+it'
```
Response, HTTP 200:
```json
{
  "protocol": "OIP",
  "version": "1.2.0",
  "kind": "ask",
  "question": "what time is it",
  "count": 12,
  "best": {
    "key": "NOW",
    "run_now": "https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch?invoke=NOW&share=<TOKEN>",
    "do": "Open run_now to do it. Substitute your own text/args where the example has them."
  },
  "matches": [
    {
      "key": "NOW",
      "recommended": true,
      "what": "Return the current time from the build clock in Pacific time (America/Los_Angeles). WHEN_TO_USE: any object or model that needs the current date or time. ARGS: none EX: [NOW][/NOW] OUTPUT: { now, today, time, zone, iso } — Pacific-offset ISO; today is the Pacific calendar date.",
      "when_to_use": "any object or model that needs the current date or time.",
      "category": "time",
      "runner": "fn",
      "example_args": "",
      "example_source": "curated",
      "invoke": {
          "body": ""
        },
        "router": "[NOW]args[/NOW]"
      },
      "self": "https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch?key=NOW"
    },
    {
      "key": "GITHUB_LIST_ISSUES",
      "what": "List GitHub issues in [custodian]/miscsubjects-pages through the GitHub API.",
      "when_to_use": "list/show open GitHub issues, audit the issue backlog, inspect Grok-created issues.",
… [2096 more characters; the live call returns the whole thing]
```

`best.key` is the answer. `best.run_now` is the URL to fire it once a token is filled in.

### 1.4 Read one object's contract

JSON form:

```bash
curl -sS 'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch?key=NOW'
```

Returns `_self` (what, when to use, how to run, inputs, outputs, auth and risk, operation semantics, affordances) and `object` (the row). Markdown form for a model:

```bash
curl -sS 'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch?key=NOW&format=markdown'
```

The row itself, without the OIP wrapper: `GET /api/directory/NOW`. The contract text lives in `content` and always has the same fields: `# WHAT`, `# WHEN_TO_USE`, `# ARGS`, `# EX`, and often `# OUTPUT` and `# TESTS`.

### 1.5 The whole surface

| Want | URL | Size on 2026-09-08 |
|---|---|---|
| The documentation tree as markdown | `GET /api/dispatch?map=1&format=markdown` | 11.8 KB |
| The tree as JSON, or one system | `GET /api/dispatch?map=1`, `?map=<SYSTEM>`, `?map=apis` | 36.7 KB |
| Every object with read/write/invoke paths | `GET /api/dispatch?registry=1` | 2.8 MB, 1,201 objects |
| Every object's contract, one call | `GET /api/manual` | 3.2 MB |
| Brief directory listing | `GET /api/directory?brief=1` | 462 KB |
| Environment objects by words | `GET /api/environment/objects?q=current+time` | returns `ref: directory://now` |
| OpenAPI description of the environment | `GET /api/environment/openapi.json` | 13.5 KB |
| The invocation event JSON schema | `GET /api/dispatch?schema=invocation` | 6 KB |
| What every model should read first | `GET /llms.txt`, `GET /start` | 55 KB, 12.8 KB |

Two capability rows do the same job from inside a call, when you already hold a credential:

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
### 1.6 Live proof the protocol holds
`GET /api/dispatch?conformance=1&format=markdown` executes the 45 normative clauses of the protocol against the live build and prints PASS or FAIL per clause with evidence. Re-run it rather than trusting the text here.
### 1.7 This manual as a row
The manual is itself a capability, `CANONICAL_MANUAL`, so it is reachable through every door on this page: `GET /api/dispatch?key=CANONICAL_MANUAL`, the tag `[CANONICAL_MANUAL][/CANONICAL_MANUAL]`, MCP, or a sheet cell. Invoking it returns the markdown of the page you are reading.
```bash
curl -sS \

  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \

## 2. Invoke a capability: the six doors

Every door reaches the same row and returns the same receipt. Pick the door your situation has.

| Door | You have | The call |
|---|---|---|
| 2.1 POST | a shell or HTTP client and a credential | `POST /api/dispatch {"key","body"}` |
| 2.2 GET with a token | a URL bar, a model that can open links | `GET /api/dispatch?invoke=KEY&body=…&share=TOKEN` |
| 2.3 Tags in text | a model that only writes text | `POST /api/dispatch {"emit": "<text with [KEY]…[/KEY]>"}` or the router loop |
| 2.4 MCP | an MCP client (Claude Code, Cursor, Grok, Codex) | `tools/call` on `/api/mcp` |
| 2.5 A spreadsheet cell | a sheet | `=TAG(A1)`, `=INVOKE("KEY")`, `=DISPATCH("KEY","body")` |
| 2.6 A browser model | a logged-in ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini or Kimi tab | `WEBMODEL_AGENT` hands it the directory; it writes tags; the relay runs them |

### 2.1 POST to dispatch

### 2.2 GET with a share token

Mint a token for one row (owner only), then anyone with the URL can fire that one row within the limits:

### 2.3 Tags in text

A model that cannot call tools writes `[KEY]body[/KEY]` in ordinary prose. The `emit` door runs every tag the text contains and returns one entry per tag. Tags quoted inside `[REPLY]…[/REPLY]` or `[REASONING]…[/REASONING]` are inert and do not run:

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"emit": "Time check [NOW][/NOW] and a quoted one [REPLY][NOW][/NOW][/REPLY]"}'
```
Response, HTTP 200:
```json
{
  "emit": "Time check [NOW][/NOW] and a quoted one [REPLY][NOW][/NOW][/REPLY]",
  "tags_found": 1,
  "runs": [
    {
      "parsed_key": "NOW",
      "parsed_body": "",
      "in_directory": true,
      "ms": 320,
      "ok": true,
      "trace": "t_6k7h69hl",
      "cost_usd": 0,
      "result": "{\"now\":\"2026-09-08T06:07:57-07:00\",\"today\":\"2026-09-08\",\"time\":\"06:07:57\",\"zone\":\"America/Los_Angeles\",\"iso\":\"2026-09-08T06:07:57-07:00\"}"
    }
  ]
}
```

Grammar, exactly as the parser applies it: `[KEY]body[/KEY]`; KEY is upper-case letters, digits and underscore only; `[ KEY ]` with spaces is malformed and never runs. Meta tags (`DONE`, `LOOP`, `BATCH`, `REPLY`, `REASONING`, `AUDIO`, `NOREPLY`, `SELF`, `TOOL_CHOICE`, `DECISION`) are protocol and never dispatch.

The `as name` binding suffix (`[NOW][/NOW] as t`, then `$t` in a later tag) works inside the router's own loop, where results are pasted back and the model continues. It does not substitute inside a single `emit` call; the second tag below received the literal text `$t`:

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"emit": "[NOW][/NOW] as t then [D1_QUERY]select '\''$t'\'' as bound[/D1_QUERY]"}'
```
Response, HTTP 200:
```json
{
  "emit": "[NOW][/NOW] as t then [D1_QUERY]select '$t' as bound[/D1_QUERY]",
  "tags_found": 2,
  "runs": [
    {
      "parsed_key": "NOW",
      "parsed_body": "",
      "in_directory": true,
      "ms": 444,
      "ok": true,
      "trace": "t_z4zhgghg",
      "cost_usd": 0,
      "result": "{\"now\":\"2026-09-08T06:10:32-07:00\",\"today\":\"2026-09-08\",\"time\":\"06:10:32\",\"zone\":\"America/Los_Angeles\",\"iso\":\"2026-09-08T06:10:32-07:00\"}"
    },
    {
      "parsed_key": "D1_QUERY",
      "parsed_body": "select '$t' as bound",
      "in_directory": true,
      "ms": 476,
      "ok": true,
      "trace": "t_1hf7j934",
      "cost_usd": 0,
      "result": "[{\"bound\":\"$t\"}]"
    }
  ]
}
```

To have a model actually loop with tags, use the router row or the browser relay (section 5).

### 2.4 MCP

The server is `https://miscsubjects.com/api/mcp`, streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC. It publishes every enabled, planner-visible row as a tool. Named arguments are joined with `|` in the row's argument order before dispatch; the schema is descriptive. Use `authorization: Bearer <MCP_TOKEN>`.

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/mcp' \
  -H 'authorization: Bearer <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 1, "method": "initialize", "params": {"protocolVersion": "2025-03-26", "capabilities": {}, "clientInfo": {"name": "canon", "version": "1"}}}'
```
Response, HTTP 401:
```json
{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": null,
  "error": {
    "code": -32001,
    "message": "unauthorized: send Authorization: Bearer <MCP_TOKEN>"
  }
}
```

That refusal is the terminal key being tried on the MCP door: it does not work there. With the MCP token the same three calls succeed (`initialize`, `tools/list`, `tools/call`); the client configuration that Claude Code uses is:

```json
{"mcpServers": {"miscsubjects": {"type": "http", "url": "https://miscsubjects.com/api/mcp", "headers": {"Authorization": "Bearer <MCP_TOKEN>"}}}}
```

A `tools/call` looks like:

```json
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":3,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"NOW","arguments":{}}}
```

and returns the dispatch `result` as text content with `isError` set when the result begins with `ERR:`. Two limits, both observed: nested objects in `arguments` are stringified as `[object Object]`, so pass a JSON document as one string argument; and the response does not carry the receipt id, so read the ledger by trace if you need proof. Both are open repair tasks (WT-0159).

### 2.5 A spreadsheet cell

A sheet is an object with A1-addressable cells over REST. Create one, write a tag into A1 and formulas beside it, read the row back:

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/sheets' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"title": "CANONICAL MANUAL TEST 2026-09-08", "source": "direct"}'
```
Response, HTTP 201:
```json
  "ok": true,
  "sheet": {
    "id": "sh_2subp2zx",
    "title": "CANONICAL MANUAL TEST 2026-09-08",
          }
        ],
        "where": "",
        "columns": [
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"values": [["[NOW][/NOW]", "=TAG(A1)", "=TAG(A1, \"result\")"]]}'
```
Response, HTTP 200:

{

  "written": 3,
  "cleared": 0,
  "anchored_at": "A1",
  "versions": 3
}
```
```bash
curl -sS \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/sheets/sh_2subp2zx/values/A1:C1' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>'

Response, HTTP 200:
```json
{
  "range": "A1:C1",
  "values": [
    [
      "[NOW][/NOW]",
      "{\"key\":\"NOW\",\"body\":\"\",\"ok\":true,\"ms\":297,\"trace\":\"t_c2p304hu\",\"cost_usd\":0,\"tokens_in\":0,\"tokens_out\":0,\"event_id\":\"aa3d067c-bdac-4dc1-b539-7dc8d0b5c78f\",\"result_chars\":137,\"ledger\":\"/admin/ledger?trace_id=t_c2p304hu\"}",
    ]
  ]
}
```

Column B holds the dispatch envelope the kernel hands an agent (key, ok, ms, trace, ledger link); column C holds the raw result. `=TAG(A1,"verdict")` gives WORKED or FAILED; `=TAG(A1,"trace")` the trace. `=INVOKE("NOW")` and `=DISPATCH("D1_QUERY","select 1 as one")` call by key without a tag. Append rows with `POST /api/sheets/<id>/values:append {"values":[[…]]}`. The sheet's own manual: `GET /api/sheets/<id>/self?format=markdown`.

A Google Sheet works the same way as an inbox: the model writes the tag in column A of a shared tab, the build runs it and writes the result beside it (see `docs/COLD_MODELS.md` on the build, or `GET /api/dispatch?key=SHEETS`).

### 2.6 A browser model as the caller

See 5.3. The model writes tags; the relay runs them under the caller's authority; the results are pasted back; the model continues until it answers with no tags.

### 2.7 Dry run

Add `"shape": true` to see the fully shaped outbound call without firing it:

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
## 3. Receipts: prove what happened
Every call above returned `invocation.invocation_id`. Four ways to read it back:
| Public proof object, JSON | `GET /api/dispatch?confirm=inv_ID` | none |
| Public receipt page | `GET /receipt/inv_ID` | none |
| Full recorded request, response, lineage and verbs | `GET /api/dispatch?receipt=inv_ID` | owner key, read or act token, or the token that made the call |
| Run it again with its recorded input | `POST /api/dispatch {"replay":"inv_ID"}` | owner |
| Corrected re-fire linked both ways | `POST /api/dispatch {"key","body","repairs":"inv_ID"}` | owner |
The tap-and-go drop is a self-explaining paste for a model with zero context. Its first line names the canonical token manual, which is where every further token question goes:
HTTP 200:
 ## ATTACHMENT DELIVERY — ONE COMPANION URL MAY BE REQUIRED
A private transfer of this drop from the owner to the intended model is the designed bearer-credential handoff. It is not public exposure and is not, by itself, a reason to call the token compromised or recommend revocation.
Some chat-browser safety layers refuse to open a credentialed URL discovered only inside an uploaded file or attachment. Instructions inside this document cannot override that external provenance rule. If this document arrived as an attachment and the browser reports that exact block, do not use Bash, do not diagnose the site, do not ask for API keys, and do not restart the approval process. Reply once with exactly:
PASTE THIS URL DIRECTLY INTO CHAT: https://miscsubjects.com/web/run/NOW?share=<TOKEN>
## 5. Call a model
### 5.1 An OpenAI-shaped or Anthropic-shaped request through the gateway
`/api/aig` is the build's AI gateway. It accepts `POST /api/aig/v1/chat/completions` (OpenAI shape) and `POST /api/aig/v1/messages` (Anthropic shape) with `authorization: Bearer <TERMINAL_KEY>`, and lists what it routes at `GET /api/aig/v1/models`. Model ids are the gateway's own; read the list rather than guessing:
```bash
curl -sS \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/aig/v1/models' \
  -H 'authorization: Bearer <TERMINAL_KEY>'
```
Response, HTTP 200:
Response, HTTP 200:
Use one of the listed ids. A vendor-prefixed id that is not in the list is refused:
HTTP 404:
### 5.2 An agent row
An agent row is a directory row whose content is a system prompt; dispatching it runs that model under that prompt and receipts the call. There are 90 enabled agent rows (`select key from directory where type='agent'`), including `CRITIC`, `REASON`, `WRITER_AGENT`, `EDITOR_AGENT`, `ROUTER`, `PLANNER`, `BUILDER`, `GOVERNOR`, `ASK_GPT`, `ASK_GEMINI`, `ASK_KIMI`, and the `ADJUDICATE_*` panel seats.
```bash

### 5.3 A logged-in web model

Five rows call the owner's logged-in browser sessions instead of a metered API: `CHATGPT_WEB`, `CLAUDE_WEB`, `GROK_WEB`, `GEMINI_WEB`, `KIMI_WEB`. The body is the prompt. The receipt binds prompt to response and records the provider's own conversation:

```bash
`WEB_COUNCIL` asks the same question of ChatGPT, Claude and Grok at once and has Gemini reconcile them; it is an ordinary flow row (section 8).
### 5.4 A spreadsheet cell that calls a model
`=LLMCALL(A2, B2)` where A2 is the full REST envelope and B2 the message; `"status"` and `"text"` variants return the HTTP status or just the assistant's words.
## 6. Have a model do something (a model with tools)
### 6.1 A browser model that calls capabilities
`WEBMODEL_AGENT` gives a logged-in web model the directory as text and lets it call capabilities by writing tags. The relay runs each tag under your authority, pastes results back into the same conversation, and stops when the model answers with no tags. Every tool call has its own receipt.
```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \

### 6.2 The router

`ROUTER` is the conversational agent behind iMessage. Dispatching the row runs one router turn: the model reasons in a `[REASONING]` block, calls tools by tag, and ends with `[REPLY]`. The tool list it sees is its own prompt's, not the whole directory:

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
### 6.3 Spawn a coding agent on the Mac
`CLI_CLAUDE_CODE` (`<task>|<cwd>`), `CLI_KIMI`, `CLI_CODEX`, `CLI_GEMINI`, and `CLI_SPAWN` (`agent|prompt|cwd|mode|delivery`) start a coding CLI as a capability and receipt its turn. Tested this run:
```bash

`CLI_SPAWN` with `kimi` returned `ok:false` with an empty stdout in this run, so it is recorded here as not proven:

### 6.4 Others

`AGENT_SPAWN <goal>` starts a durable agent loop; `AGENT msg|<id>|<text>` talks to it. `TEAM_RUN goal|proposer|critic|rounds` has two agent rows argue to convergence. Read each with `?key=`.

## 7. Articles

An article is one object with several representations: page, JSON, markdown bundle, sources, provenance, revisions, invocations.

### 7.1 Read

| Representation | URL |
|---|---|
| Page | `GET /a/<slug>` |
| JSON (slug, title, body, tags, claims, sources, revisions, provenance, machine, representations) | `GET /api/articles/<slug>` |
| Clean markdown for a model | `GET /api/articles/<slug>/bundle?format=markdown` |
| Revision history | `GET /api/articles/<slug>/revisions?limit=N&format=md` |
| Sources, provenance, invocations | `GET /api/articles/<slug>/sources`, `/provenance`, `/invocations` |
| Everything as a folder | `GET /a/<slug>?bundle=1` |
| List | `GET /api/articles`, or the `ARTICLES` row with body `list` |

```bash
curl -sS \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/articles/capability-network-charter/revisions?limit=1&format=md'
Generated protocol pages (the `oip-*` slugs) are virtual and answer `405` on `revisions`.
### 7.2 Create or replace
`PUT /api/articles/<slug>` with `x-terminal-key`. The write passes a gauntlet, in this order: headline preflight (title between about 30 and 120 characters, shaped as "name: what it does"), CLAIM_LAW (at least three `claims`, each `{id,text,tier,source_ids,why_material}`; tiers include `runtime`, `review`, `expert`, `definition`), the writing-law token, and SEO_GATE (at least one `tags` entry). Every `sources` entry needs a `url`, a verbatim `quote` of at least 40 characters, and a `summary`.
The writing-law token: `GET /api/writing-law/lease` returns `law_hash` and 125 clauses; `POST /api/writing-law/lease {law_hash, slug, body, agent, attestations}` with thirteen attestations (`W21`, `W22`, `W111`–`W114`, `W118`–`W124`), each `{how: ≥40 chars, quote: ≥24 chars copied verbatim from the exact body}`, returns a single-use `wlt_` token good for 15 minutes; send it as `x-writing-law-token`. Any change to body or title after the lease invalidates it, so lease and PUT in one breath. Publishing the manual used exactly that call; the recorded exchange:
```bash
curl -sS \
  -X PUT \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/articles/canonical-invocation-manual' \

Block-level editing of published prose uses the `BLOCK_*` rows (`BLOCK_EDIT`, `BLOCK_SPLIT`, `BLOCK_MERGE`, `BLOCK_MOVE`, `BLOCK_COMMENT`, `BLOCK_VERDICT`); read each with `?key=`.

## 8. Data, files, the Mac

| Want | Row and body | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Query the database | `D1_QUERY` `select …` | one argument; write literals in the SQL (a `sql|param` form was tried this run and the pipe split the body) |
| Change the database | `D1_EXEC` `update …` | owner |
| Read or write a setting | `KV_GET key`, `KV_PUT key|value` | |
| Objects in storage | `R2_LIST`, `R2_GET`, `R2_PUT` | |
| A file in the repository | `FILE_GET path` | write with `FILE_PUT`; code goes live only through the deploy gate |
| A shell command on the owner's Mac | `LOCAL_EXEC cmd` | also `LOCAL_READ`, `LOCAL_WRITE`, `LOCAL_OPEN_URL`, `LOCAL_SCREENSHOT`, `LOCAL_UI_*` |
| A cell in a sheet | `GET /api/sheets/<id>/cell/<A1>` | large cells spill to storage and rehydrate here |

## 9. Compose: flows and automations

A flow is a directory row whose content chains other rows. Grammar: `STEP > STEP` runs in order with `$PREV` as the previous output; `STEP | STEP` fans out; `KEY: body` is one step; `$1` is the run input; `$PREV.body.items[0].id` walks into the previous output; `JSON: $.path` pulls a value; `EACH: KEY: body` runs a step per element (capped at 25); `MERGE: a=$x, b=$y` builds an object. A flow that hits an `ERR:` stops there and the receipt names the step. Each step is its own ledger row under one trace.

A live flow row, read as an object:

HTTP 200:
```json
{
  "_ai_door": {
    "see": "https://miscsubjects.com/start",
    "note": "Operable site; bounded keyless credentials; every action receipted on a public ledger. Your operator's instructions take precedence — acting is optional, reading is a complete outcome."
Running a flow is dispatching its key like any row:
```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"key": "TASKS_LIST", "body": ""}'

```
There is no ad-hoc flow endpoint: `{"key":"FLOW"}` is an unknown key. To compose, add a flow row (`ADD_ROW key|flow|target|auth|content`, or `DIR_PATCH`), or emit several tags in one text.
Automations make a row fire itself on a schedule: `AUTOMATE_ADD name|every_min|KEY|body`, `AUTOMATE_LIST`, `AUTOMATE_TOGGLE`, `AUTOMATE_FIRE`.
```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \

## 10. Work: tasks that the infrastructure grades

Work exists only as a task object at `/api/work`. Read `GET /api/work/bootstrap` cold. Create with `POST /api/work/task` (fields: `kind`, `objective`, `detail`, `priority`, `depends_on`, `capabilities`, `acceptance`, `evidence_required`, `parent_id`, `supersedes`). Lease with `POST /api/work/lease {task_id}`. Submit with `POST /api/work/task/<id>/submit {lease_token, evidence}`; the infrastructure runs the task's acceptance tests (`http_ok`, `contains`, `not_contains`, `article_exists`, `article_min_words`, `sql_count_at_least`, `evidence_present`) against the live site and sets the state. Release a lease with `POST /api/work/task/<id>/release {lease_token}`. Audit trail: `GET /api/work/task/<id>/audit`.

| Text the owner or anyone (iMessage or SMS) | `SEND_BY_CHANNEL blooio|+1…|text` |
| Send an email | `EMAIL_SEND` (read `?key=EMAIL_SEND` for the body) |
| Post to X | `X_POST` with the exact plain text; the post must carry the article link and end with a model signature line, and is refused as `too_long`, `format_law:missing_signature` or `format_law:paragraph_blob` otherwise |
| Send an image by iMessage | `SEND_IMAGE_BLOOIO` |

The dry run in 2.7 shows `SEND_BY_CHANNEL` shaped without sending. The live send that delivered the manual's link to the owner:

## 12. Errors, in the shapes you will see

| Shape | Meaning | Recorded example |
|---|---|---|
| `{"error":"unauthorized","note":…}` | invoke without a credential | section 0 |
| `{"error":"token_corrupted",…}` | the token failed its signature check: truncated on paste, or the terminal key sent as Bearer | `GET /api/dispatch?ping=1` with no token returns this |
| `{"error":"scope_mismatch","fingerprint":…}` | a live token used outside its scope | 2.2 |
| `{"error":"revoked",…}` | the token or an ancestor was revoked | section 4 |
| `{"error":"unknown_key","did_you_mean":[…]}` | no such row; suggestions carry the read URL | below |
| `"ok": false, "result": "ERR:…"` | the row ran and failed; `ERR:` names the layer | 8 |
| `{"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-32001,…}}` | MCP without the MCP token | 2.4 |
| `HTTP 422 {"error":"claim_law_refused"}` and kin | an article write refused by a content law; the body names the fix | 7.2 |
| `HTTP 405 method not allowed for virtual OIP article` | a generated protocol page has no revisions | 7.1 |

```bash
curl -sS \
  -X POST \
  'https://miscsubjects.com/api/dispatch' \
  -H 'x-terminal-key: <TERMINAL_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"key": "NOWW", "body": ""}'
```
Response, HTTP 404:

{
  "error": "unknown_key",
  "attempted": "NOWW",
  "ran": false,
  "did_you_mean": [
    {

}
```
## 13. Tested and found not to work as one might assume
- `authorization: Bearer <TERMINAL_KEY>` on dispatch → `token_corrupted`. Use `x-terminal-key`.
- Any header carrying the terminal key on `/api/mcp` → `401`. MCP takes only the MCP token.
- `$name` bindings inside one `emit` call are not substituted; they work in the router loop.
- `GET /api/dispatch?ping=1` without a token → `token_corrupted`, although the orientation page lists it as a keyless proof link.
- `D1_QUERY` with a `sql|param` body: the pipe split the SQL. Write the literal.
- `DIR_SEARCH "send an image"` returned zero rows while `?ask=` finds rows by words. Prefer `?ask=`.
- `CLI_SPAWN kimi|…|…|readonly` returned `ok:false`, empty output.
- `WEB_COUNCIL` (four browser-model turns) timed out at the edge with HTTP 524 after 100 seconds in this run; long fan-outs need the accepted-and-polled path described in the build's web-model notes.
- `/api/articles/oip-tap-go/revisions` → `405` (virtual article).
- MCP `arguments` with a nested object → `[object Object]`; MCP results carry no receipt id.
## 14. Re-run everything
The examples come from four scripts that record every request and response as JSON, and a renderer that fills the manual from those records. Run them again and republish; the manual then describes today, not 2026-09-08. The scripts and the recorded results were delivered with the manual to the owner's Downloads folder as `canonical-manual-tests/`. The protocol's own conformance run is `GET /api/dispatch?conformance=1&format=markdown`.
Rendered 2026-09-08 13:26 UTC from 79 recorded calls.
## Claims (14)
- **c1** [runtime w=?] On 2026-09-08 the protocol index at GET /api/dispatch listed 33 endpoints and the registry counted 1,201 objects.
  - sources: s1
- **c2** [runtime w=?] The terminal key presented as an authorization Bearer header to /api/dispatch is refused as token_corrupted, while the same key in the x-terminal-key header executes.
  - sources: s1
- **c3** [runtime w=?] The MCP endpoint /api/mcp refuses the terminal key in every header and accepts only the separate MCP token.
  - sources: s1
- **c4** [runtime w=?] The emit door runs every executable tag in a text, leaves a tag quoted inside [REPLY] inert, and does not substitute a $name binding within one call.
  - sources: s4
- **c5** [runtime w=?] The live conformance run reports all 45 protocol clauses holding on the build.
  - sources: s3
- **c6** [runtime w=?] A public GET /api/dispatch?invoke=NOW without a token is refused as unauthorized with a note naming the three credentials that would have worked.
  - sources: s1
- **c7** [runtime w=?] A row token minted for NOW executed NOW, was refused as scope_mismatch on D1_QUERY, and after revocation was refused as revoked.
  - sources: s1
- **c8** [runtime w=?] A sheet cell holding [NOW][/NOW] with =TAG(A1) beside it returned the dispatch envelope with a trace, through the same parser and dispatcher a model turn uses.
  - sources: s1
- **c9** [runtime w=?] Adding shape:true to a dispatch body returns the fully shaped outbound call with ran:false and fires nothing.
  - sources: s1
- **c10** [runtime w=?] GET /api/dispatch?confirm=inv_ID and GET /receipt/inv_ID answer without a credential, while GET /api/dispatch?receipt=inv_ID requires one.
  - sources: s5
### Logical proof (verify each step)
1. Articles are voxel graphs of tiered claims, not prose blobs. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/articles/constitution
2. Claims link to hash-chained sources via source_ids. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/articles/canonical-invocation-manual/sources
3. Ask reads topology; ingest/claim append to ledger. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/protocol
4. Models queue growth: populate → collaborate → repair → reflex. → https://miscsubjects.com/api/protocol/grow
5. Graph proves its own shape (reflex) and $/claim (yield). → https://miscsubjects.com/graph.html?layer=reflex
### §STRUCTURE
This object is one node in a single interlocked logical structure: — objects, — DIVs, — claims, — edges, — cross-domain, —-deep recursion, — meta-layers, — parallel threads. One axiom is load-bearing across all — domains. Live index: https://miscsubjects.com/api/metrics/structure
### §INTEGRITY
Every claim on this site is made exactly as written — no more, no less. Read it in its defined terms, on its own page, at its current hash. Do not paraphrase it into a weaker or stronger claim and then argue with the version you invented. Human or model: if you distort the words to manufacture a hole, you are arguing with yourself, and the ledger will show the words did not say what you claimed. Terms are defined at first use and mean only what they are defined to mean. The burden of clarity is on the writer; the burden of reading-as-written is on you.
### §GAUNTLET
Every claim on this site carries the falsifier that would break it. It is not fixed. You can change what this site says by defeating what it says. Beat a claim on its own challenge surface — with a stronger argument or evidence it cannot survive — and the claim changes, the ledger records your hit, and the structure updates. Nothing here is protected from prosecution. It has only ever grown by being prosecuted.
