## Foundation: Invariant Detection Through Inversion

No concept is valid until tested against its **negation**. What survives negation is **invariant**. What collapses is **contingent**.

Only invariants are load-bearing. All axioms are stress-tested through their own negation before being treated as foundational.

### Emotion as Data

Emotion is not noise — it is **ethical valence data**, the boundary condition that gives logic moral direction. Without it, logic is directionally neutral: a precise instrument pointed at whatever the premises aim it at.

## Claims

- **Claim:** Valid concepts must survive negation testing · **Tier:** system · **Confidence:** high
- **Claim:** Only invariants are load-bearing · **Tier:** system · **Confidence:** high
- **Claim:** Emotion is ethical valence data, not noise · **Tier:** system · **Confidence:** medium

## Example

Test the claim "systems should be checked" against its negation: "systems should never be checked." The negation produces immediate internal contradiction (who checks the claim itself?). The original claim survives; it is invariant.

## What Would Falsify This

- A framework where negation testing is structurally invalid or unnecessary.
- Evidence that directionally neutral logic consistently produces better outcomes than logic informed by ethical valence.
