## Body

# Appendix A — Compact Definitions

## The Claim
Seventeen terms require explicit definition.

## Definitions
Full-scope system optimality = durable agency, order, gain, auditability, and correct function under load, without contradiction, hidden cost, coercive maintenance, wasted energy, or tolerated remediable subjugation.
Full scope = bounded by declared decision horizon, known affected parties, required accounting categories, and priced unresolved nodes.
Systems-level entropy = a maintained lower-yield state requiring ongoing energy to suppress higher-order function.
Injustice = tolerated remediable subjugation: an actor beholden to a system, unable to remedy, where capable remedy exists and the system tolerates non-remedy.
Capability = effective remedy-capacity multiplied by proximity multiplied by leverage.
Obligation = duty triggered by capability when the harmed actor cannot self-remedy; bounded by capability, proximity, leverage, and actual remedy.
Invariant installation = the minimum structural change that closes a recurrence pathway across a distribution.
Logical unit = the smallest auditable inference step, evaluable as true, false, unknown, conflicted, insufficient, or out of scope.
Surety = correctness multiplied by auditability multiplied by reproducibility multiplied by adversarial survival.
Logical energy = total physical and symbolic cost across an artifact's lifecycle.
Logical density = surety divided by logical energy.
Task-adjusted logical density = expected verified decision value divided by total lifecycle logical cost.
Proof artifact = a replayable, ledgered output of a reasoning event, valid within declared scope, freshness window, and similarity class.
Admission invariant = the rule that all inputs are untrusted until typed, scoped, provenance-bound, permissioned, checked, and admitted.
Command plane = the deterministic layer above stochastic weights that elects model, scaffold, context, tools, and proof depth per task.
Glass box = a system whose external and meta-decisions are typed, logged, replayable, challengeable, and revocable.
Structural isolation = the separation of raw ingestion, proof construction, and ledgering into distinct instances where risk requires.

## The Logic
1. If a term is undefined, then reasoning about it is ambiguous.
2. If reasoning about a term is ambiguous, then claims using it are unfalsifiable.
3. If claims are unfalsifiable, then they are not operational.
4. Therefore, undefined terms must be defined before use.

## The Evidence
The conformance suite verifies that all terms resolve to capabilities. The ask endpoint resolves terms to nearest keys. The directory snapshot maps declared contracts to live implementations. The ledger records every invocation with typed scopes. The system admits no undefined inputs.

## The Falsifier
Show that a defined term is incoherent. Show that an undefined term produces operational claims. Show that the definitions contradict each other.

## The Uncertainty
The definitions may be incomplete. New terms may require new definitions. The system may not enforce all definitions uniformly.
