## Body

# The Stochastic Era vs. The Deterministic Era

## The Claim
The deterministic era replaces the stochastic era for audit-dependent work.

## Definitions
Stochastic era = an economy that sells probabilistic answers.
Deterministic era = an economy that sells proof artifacts.
Audit-dependent work = any task where the output must survive review.
Proof artifact = a replayable, ledgered record of reasoning.
Surety = correctness multiplied by auditability multiplied by reproducibility multiplied by adversarial survival.
Logical density = surety divided by logical energy.
Logical energy = total physical and symbolic cost across an artifact's lifecycle.

## The Logic
1. If a task is audit-dependent, then proof artifacts outcompete probabilistic answers.
2. If proof artifacts outcompete probabilistic answers, then the deterministic era replaces the stochastic era for that task.
3. If deterministic scaffolds exist now, then the transition is mechanical, not philosophical.
4. Therefore, the deterministic era replaces the stochastic era for audit-dependent work.

## The Evidence
The system returns receipts, not answers. Each receipt contains invocation_id, story, proof, and links. The receipt is a surety score, not a confidence score. The system prices logical density, not tokens. The routing is visible. The reasoning is replayable. The canonical router returns exact URLs, not generated text. The deterministic path costs less than the probabilistic path.

## The Falsifier
Show that probabilistic answers consistently beat proof artifacts on audit-dependent tasks after all costs. Show that deterministic scaffolds do not exist. Show that the transition requires philosophical agreement, not mechanical adoption.

## The Uncertainty
Models remain useful for creative work. The deterministic era does not cover all tasks. The cost comparison may shift.
