A short video to share with you. https://youtu.be/yPyxyBbuZCw?si=zZVjMUZjiuncNna2 A well preserved ranch in an ecologically designed fashion since old days. Not flat but smooth up and down. Good for exercise while relaxing to enjoy the trail. Shadows in most areas. Fees required with self service. Dog is not allowed.

Olompali State Historic Park is a quiet and interesting place with layers of California history. You can learn about the Coast Miwok people, the Burdell family ranch, the Grateful Dead, and the commune that once lived here. The old buildings, ruins, and interpretive signs make the walk feel like exploring several different periods of history at once. The park is peaceful and not crowded, although some areas and signs are weathered. It is a good stop for anyone interested in local history, old ranches, or unusual historic sites.

Great easy hike for families. The shelters (not tipis) will likely spark some curiosity for learning more about the Coast Miwok people and other interesting historical events at the location. Definitely recommend for a hike with the little ones.

This is a really nice walk/hike… very hot.. loud if birds and squirrels and lizards. I hugged a tree today which gave me all the peace i needed 😂🌱

Visited in early September, very dry, everything was closed, descriptions faded, not a employee in sight. Nice hike, but would recommend visiting outside the dry season. IMO not worth the $8 parking fee
