I had a replacement window screen order, thinking having a new one made is better but it was too big to fit and they put the retention clip on the top instead of the side. I specifically pointed out the clip issue when I brought it in originally and the kid apparently didn't pay attention, nor did they probably compare the old screen which I actually left with them, but is now disposed of. When I went in to speak to a manager they were kind of quick to offer a refund to get me out of there. To be fair they would need me to leave the screen, (turn around time was a month btw) but I don't exactly want them to give me another screen that won't fit where the reference is disposed of - what will I do then? I just don't trust the Novato store and will have the San Rafael Chase store re-screen one and create duplicates. I said as much and they said nothing to reassure me. I want to point out a couple of things with the reply on Google reviews, supposedly by the owner. Why is there any kind of reply when the original was a rating with no review? Just for the 5 stars? An opportunity to promote oneself. And for those who had a key issue, I think that generic reply to email the company for training purposes is ridiculous. In this case the manager I spoke to could have said they would look at the situation to ensure it doesn't happen again, I am right there so that could be addressed before I go online to write this review, but it doesn't look like they care and just said "I don't know what happened" and most likely want to get rid of the customer. The "email us" reply is what big companies do who want to project an impression that they are responsive when they are not really. I don't buy it. Growing up in Novato I had the image that Pini is a nice local business that care about what they do, I don't believe that anymore. I'd like to support local business but not so much when I don't feel like they care about supporting me. Also their Yelp listing does not say unclaimed, and there is not even the generic "email us" replies there. The customer is not paid to do training. Why does it require a separate email taking our time when we already wrote detailed information in the review?

Most measures are fine but this particular location, just this one Jack in the Box - and in fact just this one fast food place out of any has a big No Loitering sign and even one inside that has a time limit of 30 minutes. 30 Minutes is a working lunch, if I took the time to drive there and choose to dine in I want to sit down and not be rushed. This extends the idea of "fast food" to not just you getting it fast but you eating it fast. I understand they may have homeless people they don't want hanging around this is frankly not helpful for the dining experience. I have to wonder how other fast food restaurants handle it without resorting to this sooner because I've never seen this anywhere, and I doubt they are the only ones to have this issue ever.

I am writing this review under the assumption that this listing with just the word "Parkhaven" is the HOA, Yelp listing is unclaimed as of this time as well so there is limited information. But a little information about some neighbors is here as well. A quick search for Steward Property Services which they utilized will also show they do not have a good review on both general consumer rating sites and association rating sites, but I think it's likely both have issues. There is some history of the HOA overstepping their bounds, likely due to ignorance. Years ago the POLICE asked me to put up a no parking sign since a former tenant had effectively abandone the vehicle, they asked me to take it down because of course their simple rule of thumb is "it doesn't look good" and once informed I was instructed to do so by law enforcement then they basically responded "oh it's okay then." Most recently I got a letter from the manager at Steward Property asking for some things to be changed with a compliance number resembling a ticket from law enforcement, CITING NO HOA CODE VIOLATION, including dictating that I replace blinds which is of course INSIDE the unit. I don't know who is the source of such communications, who comes up with the formatting of the form letter so who's just the messenger but it seems like they don't care about having grounds to ask you to do something. By the way, during COVID years I had at least one "neighbor" leaving anonymous notes in my mailbox threatening to inform the association with the FIRST message for something they take issue with. Not even the second where a little time has passed since obviously if the message was ignored it would be warranty. Apparently they don't have the decency to talk to me in person or leave any kind of contact information for them, it strikes me as people not dealing with others in good faith and can't take responsibility for their own reactions to superficial appearances which of course does no harm to anyone. I've looked into law firms that work to defend against HOAs and have found one that specializes in them at this point since I consider it very likely they will overstep, due to sheer ignorance or laziness (to reference actual HOA code) if nothing else. Oh yeah, they also asked a resident to take down a Feng Shui ornament before. How much you want to bet they wouldn't do that with a crucifix? My advice: Document everything, look into law firms specializing in HOAs.
