Matsuyama in Novato was a great find during our midday pit stop on the way to Sonoma County. I had the teriyaki beef and tempura combo, and both were delicious—the beef was tender with just the right amount of sweetness, and the tempura was crispy without being too greasy. My family and nephews all enjoyed their meals, and the kids’ plates were a hit. The restaurant has a cozy, no-frills atmosphere, making it a great spot for a casual meal. My mom was surprised to find Japanese food in the area, but Matsuyama is definitely a solid local gem. The pricing was reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. Service was friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. If I’m ever in the area again, I’d love to stop by and try more of their menu!
