text: I scheduled an appointment for a chimney sweep at my home in Nicasio. I am 10 minutes from the Lucas valley road exit on Highway 101, just past the marinwood neighborhood. Appointment was confirmed by the receptionist, but the following day I received a call from a man telling me that he would either raise the quoted rate by $200 or take me off the books, due to my home’s location being “not worth it” to him. He literally used those words. When I tried to explain that I’m only 10 minutes off the major highway exit he said “you know what, I’m just taking you off the books. It’s not worth it to me.” HIGHLY unprofessional in my opinion.
