I had been informed on Monday, July 14, that passport renewals were handled on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 3:15 PM. Following that instruction, I arrived at the post office at that time to renew my passport.\n\nUnfortunately, when I approached the counter, I and several others were met with a staff member who appeared visibly upset and overwhelmed. She raised her voice from across the counter, stating that she hadn’t had a lunch break and told me to speak with her supervisor if I had any concerns.
