Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group who share your drive to give back. <div>Welcome to the Rotary Club of San Rafael</div> Rotary Club of San Rafael passed the gavel for the 105th time on June 22, 2026 Outgoing President Matt Briggs is presented with the President Plaque and Gavel acknowledging his successful leadership during 2024 - 2025. Past President Madeleine Moore installed the incoming Officers and Directors for 2026-27: Ed Berberian , Secretary; Doug Murray , Treasurer; and Directors Judy King, Gustavo Moraes, Jerry Suyderhoud, Mike Watt, and Lisa Wilhelm . Past President Otis Bruce reflected on our Club's family connections before installing and pinning Justin Sommer as President. Past President Richard Kalish MC'd the ceremony. Thanks to Cassie Bratberg and Oak Dowling for leading the Pledge and providing the Invocation; to Marilyn Riede and Margaret Deedy for organizing the evening as the Installation Committee; and to Steve and Sally and guest trumpet Howard for filling the patio with cool jazz under balmy skies. Otis extends his appreciation to our club members for support and services to the Ritter Center in San Rafael in helping the homeless and their families with food, clothing, shelter, and other essential services. We are honored to collaborate with and support Ritter Center Executive Director, Mark Shotwell, Chief Development Officer, Cynthia LeMonds, and Mary Burns, Annual Fund & Events Manager. Guided by the RI code and policies, the Board selected the new president-elect from a pool of candidates who were considered by the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International in August 2023. The 2025-26 presidential message, announced at the 2025 Rotary International Assembly in February, will remain Unite for Good , which calls on Rotary members to be a force for unity in a world increasingly divided by politics, geography, and ideology. Through service projects, Rotary brings together people of every background — across races, religions, and professions — in a shared mission to do good in their communities. Arezzo is an orthodontist in private practice. He is active internationally as a member of the Italian, European, and American orthodontics associations. He is vice president of the National Association of Italian Dentists for the province of Ragusa and was the founder and head for seven years of the delegation for Ragusa of the National Trust for Italy. He is a Knight of Honor and Devotion in Obedience within the Sovereign Order of Malta.
