I can’t recommend Novato Auto Service highly enough. Scott is one of the most honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy mechanics I’ve ever worked with.
After another shop, DNA Automotive in San Rafael, made mistakes while working on my Camaro, I was left frustrated and worried about the condition of my car. Scott took the time to thoroughly diagnose the issues, explain everything clearly, and fix the problems correctly. His expertise and attention to detail were evident from the start.
What impressed me most was his honesty. He was upfront about what needed to be done, never tried to upsell unnecessary repairs, and kept me informed throughout the process. It’s rare to find a mechanic who genuinely cares about doing the job right and earning your trust.
My Camaro is running better than ever, and I finally have peace of mind knowing the work was done properly. If you’re looking for a skilled, honest, and reliable mechanic, Scott at Novato Auto Service is the person to see.
Thank you, Scott, for your outstanding work and professionalism!
Scott and his team are honest, thorough and underpromised and overdelivered. The 1st time I came for an estimate and his was the best of the 3. Price, honesty, timeline and a positive experience with other staff. The other guy, I wish I could remember his name. He was helpful and resouceful beyond my highest hopes. I recently came for an oil change and brakes. High rec for Scott and Novato Auto Service. Support small, local business. This one has honesty, integrity and hard work.
I previously had a check engine light on that I’ve delayed which seems it might be the catalytic converter, or oxygen sensors, both are pretty expense.
When my car wouldn’t start you could imagine I was worried as hell — I was getting take out across the street from his shop, when it happened and I was able to graciously park it at his compound over night.
By morning we met, and while I was distressed about the uncertainty, maybe catalytic converter, oxygen sensors, and with a smile and grin, he made two guesses that came out to be the exact issue, one of them being the total control system for the Mazda CX-5, and battery together for it not starting.
He did more than just that, he flushed the car out, pumped my tires, refilled the wiper fluid, and replaced my battery which was old.
The car runs better than it had previously by a long shot, and he cleared the check engine light codes which made me feel I could push things a little longer haha 😅
I cannot thank Scott enough and I’ll be sure to visit him if I have any more issues or questions.
Thank you Scott!
Great service, honest and fair. Were able to take our camper van and do regular service plus fix a few other of the RV elements we needed. Will definitely be going back.
There are no words that can explain how grateful I am of Scott and the team. They resolved the mystery electrical issue that I had with my truck and saved me the stress of having broken vehicle. Scott was vigilant at finding root cause and I commend the determination. It's rare that you experience a mechanic that will put a solid effort to resolve an issue that was a mystery and to really troubleshoot. Thank you Scott and team! You guys will always be my go to service mechanic!
