I’m an eating disorder dietitian in Marin County, Petaluma – and virtually. More specifically, I’m a registered dietitian, nutrition therapist, and certified intuitive eating counselor with over 15 years of experience. I specialize in eating disorder recovery, disordered eating, and body image concerns – and helping clients break free from the mental, emotional, and physical toll of chronic dieting and disordered eating. Ultimately, I help clients nurture a caring and compassionate relationship with food and their bodies. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I offer individual nutrition and body image counseling sessions for those healing from chronic dieting, body image concerns, and disordered eating and eating disorder nutrition therapy for those in recovery from an eating disorder. While in care, I closely collaborate with other members of a client’s treatment team, such as their medical doctor, therapist, and/or psychiatrist. I also invite parents, caregivers, and/or spouses into the recovery process – when appropriate – so they can support their loved one in becoming nourished and well. Over the years, I have developed a special knack (and love) for being able to support those with longstanding eating disorders or those with a complex eating disorder history. Many of these individuals are also bravely healing from co-occurring mood disorders, trauma, or substance misuse. I work alongside clients and their supports to help them nurture compassion, joy, and a sense of agency as they heal their relationship to food, body, and self. I enjoy nuanced and “complicated” stories and strive to create a space where clients can feel safe, trust, share, and heal. I use evidenced-based treatment practices in my work combined with medical nutrition therapy and also take into account who the client is in the room and what their experiences have been. I utilize various counseling skills, modalities, and behavioral approaches to better help my clients form a lasting nourishing relationship with food, movement, and their body. Nutrition therapy and counseling means my work with individuals is evidence based and relational. I deeply care about your thoughts, experiences, feelings, and intentions as we move forward in the work. I believe we need science and that every client, every person, and every family has their own unique needs. I look forward to supporting you on your journey. I see clients at my offices in San Rafael and Petaluma, California and online via a secure, HIPPA-Compliant video platform for those in California and select U.S. states. In my client sessions, I strive to create a safe, judgement free space where you can come, process, and learn how to kindly be with (and in) your body. And where you can learn how to cultivate an enjoyable, healthy, and nourishing relationship with food.
