Yosumi Ramen is a fantastic newer spot that genuinely surprised me in the best way. We originally stopped in for sushi, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The quality definitely exceeded expectations for a newer restaurant in the area. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. You can tell they care about what they’re doing. The space itself is clean, modern, and comfortable…perfect for a casual lunch or an easy dinner out. I didn’t try the ramen this time, but after seeing it come out for other tables, I’m absolutely getting it on my next visit. It looked incredible. All in all, Yosumi Ramen is definitely worth a try, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend giving them a shot while they’re still a hidden gem.

Carmen’s La Hacienda in Novato is my go-to spot! There’s nothing better than grabbing a seat at the bar, ordering a cold beer, and enjoying chips and salsa while catching a game. And let me tell you, their green salsa is hands down the best I’ve ever had. My usual order? A grilled chicken burrito, and it never disappoints. The downtown vibes, friendly service, and lively atmosphere make this place a must-visit. It’s always bustling, which just proves how loved it is by the community. Whether you’re here for a casual bite or a night out, Carmen’s delivers every time!

Fresh, flavorful, and that ranch is everything! Blue Barn in Novato is one of those places I keep coming back to and I always end up ordering the Northern Fry with crispy tater tots and a side of their amazing ranch. You know that ranch that just hits the spot? This is it. Creamy, tangy, and totally addictive. The menu is packed with fresh, locally sourced options. You’ll find hearty salads like the Cobber and Waldorf with shrimp, creative sandwiches (the skirt steak is a favorite), burgers, tacos, and even comfort sides like tomato basil soup and seasonal greens. There’s something for everyone, including vegan and vegetarian choices. The outdoor seating is cozy and clean, with umbrellas for sunny days and a relaxed vibe that’s perfect for casual dining. It’s pet-friendly and kid-friendly, so expect a lively crowd during peak hours. Staff is friendly and quick, and the whole place has a laid-back, California-cool feel. If you’re in Novato and craving fresh ingredients with bold flavors, Blue Barn is a solid pick. Just don’t skip the ranch.

Stopped in for a late lunch at Sabor de Mexico and ordered the super burrito, opting to get it “wet” for a couple extra dollars. The portion size was seriously impressive…this thing was huge. That said, the flavor felt a bit one‑note, and I was hoping for more variety in the ingredients. I also wasn’t the biggest fan of the enchilada sauce on top, though that’s probably just personal preference. The staff, however, were great…friendly, attentive, and quick. The space itself is nice too, with a big outdoor seating area and quieter indoor options. I’d definitely come back to try other menu items and give the place another shot.

Marin Coffee Roasters has become my go-to treat after a long week! I always order their house coffee with a splash of heavy cream, and it never disappoints. The rich, bold flavors paired with the smooth, creamy finish is pure perfection in a cup. It’s simple, but it hits the spot every time. Highly recommend this local gem for anyone who appreciates a great cup of coffee!

I went to Boca last night with my aunt and uncle after seeing a ton of great reviews about the braised beef pappardelle, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The pasta was perfectly al dente, loaded with rich, deep flavor, and finished with just the right amount of Parmesan on top. Truly outstanding. We started with the clams, and those were another hit…super flavorful, fresh, and the broth was so good I honestly wanted to drink it. Great food, great execution, and a really solid experience overall. I’d definitely come back.

I stopped by El Ray Mexican in Novato and ordered a burrito. It was decent in size and filling, but the flavor was underwhelming and could use some cilantro, more seasoning or depth. The atmosphere reminded me of a Denny’s that has been converted into a Mexican restaurant, casual and straightforward with plenty of seating. Service was great and the overall experience was comfortable. Even though the burrito did not impress me, I would be willing to come back and try other dishes to see if they deliver more flavor.
