Marisa Hoke Fazi · Tagliaferri's Delicatessen
- text
- Great Italian sandwiches, nice selection of pastas, coffees and sweets. Delicious cold cuts when eaten in the store as a sandwich. However, if one wants to buy thinly sliced fine domestic or imported cold cuts such mortadella, prosciutto or headcheese, I suggest going to another deli such as Scotty's Market that knows how to cut cold cuts properly - which includes putting a sheet of deli wax paper between each and every slice. A great delicatessen instructs its employees to properly slice and package cold cuts thick or thin, according to what the customer wants, and to use deli wax paper which stops the thin slices from sticking together. This makes it easy to pull one slice at a time at home. Sadly, no matter which employee I've asked when buying cold cuts at Tagliaferri's, they never do this even when they say they will. When I open the package of cold cuts, it's impossible to take off one slice at a time because they're all stuck together and they shred into hunks instead of the expensive delicious cold cuts that they would have been had they been properly handled at the deli. I hope the owner takes this to heart so that I can keep shopping for the cold cuts from him instead of elsewhere.
