Terrible experience with customer service, was treated extremely poorly today when pointing out a flaw on an indoor plant I was trying to purchase. I shop here frequently, as Novato only has a few options to choose from when it comes to plants. Today was pretty busy, and there were two workers on cashier duty. I was going to purchase two carnivorous plants that had definitely seen better days. They obviously hadn't been watered in quite a while as they had completely dry, hydrophobic soil with dead leaves all around the base (with a sticker that said to keep somewhat moist), no pitchers or new growth, and were looking like they needed to be saved. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I asked the young man at the front if he would possibly cut me a small discount since the plants were in such poor condition. He ripped the plants from my hand and said he would not give me a discount. I said ok, I wasn't going to take the plants. He followed up with, "good", as I walked away. Then as I proceeded to leave I noticed my car was blocked by a delivery truck. I asked if I would be able to get put with him behind me, and he responded by chastistizing my driving skills. I called twice to speak with management and wasn't able to speak with a manager either time, as I suspect the person answering the phone was the kid at the register that was rude to me. Sloat management, I recommend training your employees how to treat customers with respect, especially when customers are respectful to them. Safe to say, I will only be shopping Summerwinds or elsewhere from here on out.
