If you are thinking about visiting the salon I highly recommend Lori R. She is awesome! She does great color and always gives me exactly the haircut I am looking for. My color lasts for months. It is a super reasonable price and she is super friendly. The other staff are also great! Definitely recommend

I’ve been going to Lori, Master Stylist, at Ulta in Novato for a little over a year now, and after four appointments, I’ve been super happy with the results every time. She takes the time to really listen during the consultation, offers thoughtful and realistic recommendations, and consistently delivers beautiful results. I highly recommend Lori to anyone looking for a talented stylist who truly cares about her clients!

Ulta corp is not a great place to work. I’ve known two women that have worked there and the stuff they told me in the past was not good. I had forgotten and had an appointment for my daughter. We got stuck in completely stopped traffic because there was an accident on the way there. I called over 30 minutes ahead to let them know we may be a little late but I will let them know if we can’t make it. Got there 7 minutes late. Walked past at least 5 employees at the front that did welcome us in. Stood at the salon counter for 8 minutes. Stylist didn’t acknowledge us (but she was busy with a client), I went to the front to ask for help. When I got back to the salon counter the same stylist asked who we were and they didn’t even have us on the list I guess? Then she asked, is it a kids cut? I said yes and then she knew exactly who our stylist was. Our stylist came out of the back. She was very nice but I was very disappointed with the whole situation as she said that her other client before us ran over time and that she couldn’t take us because we were past 15 minutes… 30 minutes late… 15 minutes late (she kept changing the cutoff time. I looked down at my watch and we were 17 minutes past the appointment time (10 of which was waiting for help)… she then told me she cant take us and the appointment after us is already there… huh??? Then she tried to rebook and nothing for any other day before graduation (5 days away). Then she asked “kids cut?”. I said “yes”, she then asked are you 10 or younger and my daughter said “I’m 11”. So the lady said “well then that will be a regular cut” and then started telling me prices. I don’t care about that. Her mom booked the appointment and I wasn’t asking about money, I just want my daughter’s hair cut. The amount of just trash understanding of service was subtly ridiculous. Everyone is nice in tonality but then terrible at actually serving you. I told her forget it, we will go somewhere else from now on. We won’t be giving Ulta any business again. I gave 2 stars for nice tonality and welcoming me in the door. But really, no one cares about a greeting, they care about actual help. Duh.

So I made an appointment for my daughter haircut first time there because I saw they do the stencils. So I made the appointment for 11:30 am, l got there on time, I wasn’t greeted. There was two stylist with clients, both didn’t acknowledge me, so I waited about 15 minutes or more. When one of the stylist asked me my name and then told me that the stylist I scheduled which was Jolene is almost done. So I understand my appointment was 30 minutes she asked if my daughter wanted her hair wash I said yes and then I asked her if she could do the stencils. I understand she was accommodating with what I was asking for because I wasn’t given the option to put it when I made the appointment. As she was doing my daughter’s hair I notice Jolene had a client that was waiting and she told her the client if she could come back 20 minutes. At the end I did some shopping my total was over $200. When we got home and I took a look at my daughter’s hair it looked uneven some string of hair short and long even with the hair dry or wet. So I called customer service and I got a called by the manager and scheduled an appointment with the same stylist to fix it. The appointment got made for us to go in Thursday. A night before the appointment I got a call saying that Jolene wasn’t going to be there Thursday and my appointment got canceled . I am very disappointed and never going to Ulta again.

I love my hair :) Lorie R. Is so great at what she does. With all her experience and how she understands what I want and what looks best on me, I’m just so happy to have found someone like Lorie. She did a signature haircut and also added on a keratin treatment and my hair has been so shiny and silky. She said it would be the best haircut I’ve ever had and she was completely right! Thank you Lorie!
