If I could give negative stars, they deserve negative stars. I bought a gift card and proceeded to open the card there at the register and download it to my account. I could not read the claim code and showed the cashier the illegible claim code. He called his manager and his manager told me he couldnt help me cause they cant do returns on gift cards. I told them I didnt want a refund just a new card with a good claim code. I just paid these guys $50 just a minute ago and they said it was a problem i had to take up with customer service. As a retailer for amazon gift cards dont they have an obligation to make sure the products they sell for amazon works and not just tell me go call customer service. Poor customer service and a I dont care attitude is what I experienced at the novato CVS. I will never go back

This pharmacy (1707 grant) has caring staff, but they are overwhelmed with the amount of prescriptions/customers they have. Two other pharmacies in Novato have closed in recent years and it seems like everyone has come here now. Lines are long and if you have any issues at pick up they direct you I er to drop off meaning you cannot get one stop resolution. You have to wait in line again. If they have an issue filling your prescription they won’t call to ask you anything. It just won’t be there when you arrive at pick up time. This has happened several times to me and I also had to stand in line to return a script that had been substituted for a different generic than the one I needed. They do the bare minimum here and I can’t blame them. I worked in retail years ago and the chronic understaffing here is terrible For the employees as well as customers. The Costco pharmacy and either of the other cvs stores in Novato would be a better choice at this point. I’m hoping to get all of my prescriptions transferred out asap. It would be great if cvs corporate would increase staffing and review customer service protocols with existing staff here.

I am writing to express serious concern regarding an interaction that took place at CVS Pharmacy in Novato, California involving a pharmacy technician and a 65-year-old Black woman. The customer arrived to pick up her prescribed medication and was informed that it was “too early” to refill because it was a controlled substance. While it is understandable that controlled medications have strict refill policies, the manner in which the situation was handled was deeply troubling. The pharmacy technician told the woman, “Let me see if you tried to get it somewhere else,” implying suspicion. He further stated that if she attempted to go somewhere else to get it, she would not be able to. The tone and wording came across as accusatory rather than informative. Several customers who witnessed the interaction felt that the elderly woman was being racially profiled. It was openly discussed among those present that had she been a white elderly woman, those statements likely would not have been made in that manner. The comments appeared to be based on assumption rather than professional protocol, and the interaction lacked empathy and respect. Additionally, the pharmacist informed the woman that she could only pay for her medication at the pharmacy counter and could not pay for her other store items there. While that may be store policy, the delivery felt dismissive during an already uncomfortable exchange. After making the statements, the pharmacy technician attempted to backtrack by saying, “I didn’t mean that.” However, many who observed the situation believe that he said exactly what he meant, and the damage had already been done. An apology without accountability does little to repair the perception of bias. Elderly patients, especially those managing controlled medications, deserve professionalism, dignity, and clear communication without insinuation. All customers should be treated equally and respectfully, regardless of race. This interaction raises concerns about implicit bias and customer service standards that should be addressed to ensure equitable treatment for everyone. The Pharmacy Technician was Hispanic

I went in to this CVS Sunday morning, July 5th with a winning scratcher to cash in. I had just confirmed it was a winner on the machine at Lucky grocery, but the clerks were busy, so I brought it to CVS. After waiting in a short line, I handed the scratcher to the cashier, and tell her I want to cash it in. She goes to the lotto machine. She scans my scratcher. It’s beeps, then prints out the lotto receipt. She grabs that piece of paper, crumbles it up, throws it in the trash. Then scans my scratcher a second time, takes that paper, hands it to me and says “this was already cashed”. I told her it was absolutely not already cashed, and it was because she scanned it twice. I asked to see the paper she threw away from the first scan. She lied and said there was no paper. I asked why did she have to scan it twice, she responded by telling me she was going to call the cops on me for causing a disturbance, and to leave the store. Me asking her a question she had no answer for was “causing a disturbance”. Another CVS employee came up. Possibly the manager, I’m not sure. He looked at the lotto machine for a minute. I said I’m sure there’s some kind of transaction log that shows it was scanned twice. I also asked him to check the cameras because it would clearly show that she scanned it, threw that paper away, then scanned it again. But, he refused to do anything and just tells me to call the Lottery if I have a problem! Absolutely unbelievable! The CVS cashier was trying to steal my money, and the CVS manager did nothing about it. They should both be fired immediately for this criminal act. I’m sure a thorough investigation would show this wasn’t the first time they’ve done this. I contacted the Lottery law enforcement on the matter, and will be pursuing charges against those CVS employees and prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.

Corporate headquarters (owners) want more profit and now only have a skeleton staff who, it appears, are always juggling several things at once and are stressed. I feel for them. Pharmacutical drugs have skyrocketed over the years and are the country’s most profitable industry. Profits over people. I feel for staff there.
