K Blue · Bay Club Rolling Hills (Novato)

- After closing on our new home in Novato, I toured The Bay Club Rolling Hills with genuine interest in joining. The property offers many of the amenities we were looking for — beautiful pools (recently updated), expansive workout areas, sauna, and generous outdoor spaces. There is clear investment happening on the exterior and in equipment upgrades. However, what ultimately gave me pause was the condition of the interior facilities. While “new” is not essential to me, cleanliness and basic maintenance are. During my visit, the interior walls were visibly dirty, with heavy black smudges and chipped corners throughout the building. In multiple areas, the condition went beyond wear and tear and felt neglected. The carpets were stained and appeared overdue for a deep cleaning. The children’s center looked especially tired, raising concerns about oversight and routine care. When I raised these concerns, management emphasized the capital they had recently invested and how much worse the property had been before acquisition. I respect the effort to improve the facility — but cleanliness is not optional or aspirational; it is foundational. At a membership cost exceeding $500 per month for a couple, members should expect interiors that reflect pride of stewardship, not deferred maintenance. I hope continued investment includes elevating daily custodial standards and interior upkeep to match the strong amenities and price point. With more attention to maintenance, this could become a truly excellent club for the community.
