She's on modest Christmas break. However, a dear high school friend just died. Gone a couple of days to a funeral.

Here's her thoughts (we spoke-she will do exactly what you want, just asks for understanding of her acumen on pricing fashion):

Hi Sven,

Quick note on the Hermes bag — I know, it's disappointing, but for that particular bag in those particular colors, that's what the selling price is. The bag is also not in very good condition — there are scratches on it, and the signature Hermes lock is missing. Here's the exact bag in better condition listed on ebay. It's a beautiful bag, but with these things, condition is everything. There are also other factors like seasonal preferences for color and size that we can't control that will affect what the bag goes for.

Here's my response to Cyrus points:

Can you please give each purse a title, for a listing, with a year, or year range, when it would be from (1980 or 1980’s) etc.

The titles will be made using elements from similar, successful listings — as for year or year range, that's not information that I have or can find without extensive research (and even then it's not guaranteed we can find it) without the Chanel authenticity cards, which none of the bags have.

Can you please include sufficient photos for each listing, assume 5-10 per Sure, I can send along all of the photos — just included one in that doc for reference purposes.

In lieu of a starting bid and minimum bid, can you please assess an appropriate sales value for what should be a “Buy It Now” price.  And sure, will update the doc with more photos and this updated price. Can get to you in the next day or so.

In the example of the Hermès bag, maximum description will benefit, as will some good number of photos, and, while eBay is a good venue, the structure of a listing if an item is assessed at $10k for example would be

$10,000 buy it now price

<starting bid price 50% of assessed>

<minimum acceptable bid 25% below this>

While the other platforms have higher fees, need the assessed price, and the other components aforementioned, and then can list on eBay and them simultaneously.

So, cross listing is not a good idea, and is also against some of these sites' policies. There may be a case where we have two buyers simultaneously, and that can cause some issues. Plus, if we cross list items and eBay finds out, we could be removed from the platform.

The problem with eBay is that your seller profile won’t have any history of selling items of a like nature which will incur buyer skepticism, also, without more photos and ideally more description (if possible) it inhibits the ability to put them on other markets.

I understand that will be a hurdle, but I think we should try on eBay first and see what the response is, as many other sites take 25-50% of the sale. If you'd rather go the consignment route, I can set that up, it's just my recommendation to go eBay first — eBay may take a bit longer, but you'll get more of the bag sale vs consignment, which might be faster but they'll take more $$ from you.

I have more description and photos for the bags, happy to add to the doc, just wanted to get sign off on the basics first.

Cheers Carla
