How it works

How the system works: the Directory, dispatch and the Ledger.

The Directory is a table of every action the system can run. Dispatch is one web address that runs any of those actions for a program, an AI model, a spreadsheet, an iPhone Shortcut or a person, after checking your permissions. The Ledger records every request and every response.

Right now: the Directory has 1,335 actions; dispatch can be called 26 ways (a web request, MCP, a spreadsheet formula, an Apple Shortcut, a link, the command line and more); the Ledger holds 298,691 entries.

Where actions run: iPhone · Mac · Browser · Cloud computers

1The Directory

Every action the system can run is a row in one table: the Directory.

Each row is one action, such as sending an iMessage, creating a Meta ad campaign, taking a screenshot of a Mac or reading a Google Calendar. The row stores how the action runs, what inputs it needs, and every way to call it. Below are examples, grouped by the computer they run on.

Triggers

A Shortcuts automation can start when something happens on the phone: it arrives at or leaves a place, it is tapped on an NFC sticker, the battery reaches a level, a Focus mode turns on, or it connects to Bluetooth or CarPlay. The automation tells the system, which can then run any action you allowed.

Examples

  • When your iPhone arrives home, the system unlocks a smart door lock, turns on the lights and texts a person you chose that you are home.
  • Tapping an NFC sticker in the van starts your working hours: the AI assistant begins replying to customers for you.
  • A voice note recorded on the phone is turned into text, then into a task and a draft reply.

Ads and leads

Ads on Meta, ad images and videos, and finding businesses to contact.

Each service is a sequence of Directory actions. These are the steps, in order.

Creative

AI makes the images and videos, a person chooses them, and they are uploaded to your ad account switched off until you approve.

  1. 1The briefThe only part a person writes.
  2. 2ImagesMade by an AI image model: nine at a time, in four angles and three sizes.
  3. 3VideoMade by an AI video model from the best-performing angle, reviewed by a person.
  4. 4Cut-downsA version for each ad placement: 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1.
  5. 5Uploaded, pausedPut into your ad account paused. Nothing is spent until you turn it on.

Leads & outreach

Businesses found in four sources are combined into one record each; the first message is drafted from that record; follow-ups stop when they reply.

  1. 1SourcesPeople who texted after an ad, Google Places, the state licence board, company websites.
  2. 2The recordOne row per lead, filled in by batch, scored by a rule.
  3. 3The first messageDrafted from the record, about the lead’s actual problem, written the way you write.
  4. 4iMessageFrom your own number, as iMessage (blue bubbles on iPhones).
  5. 5EmailSent with open tracking.
  6. 6WhatsAppOnly to people who already wrote to you.
  7. 7Follow-upsDay 2, 5 and 10, each with something useful in it.
  8. 8The replyArrives on your number.

Meta ads

What each step of an ad costs and returns — impressions, clicks, leads, booked jobs — and which step the system improves.

  1. 1The imageThirty-six images from one brief, in four angles and three sizes.
  2. 2The videoMade by an AI video model, cut for each placement, reviewed by a person.
  3. 3The copyThirty headlines and ten main texts, tested, shortened and rewritten.
  4. 4The audienceBuilt from people who already bought or already wrote to you.
  5. 5Launch and budgetAds created paused; the budget set by a rule.
  6. 6The reportOne row per day in a spreadsheet.

2Dispatch

One web address runs any row of the Directory: dispatch.

A program, an AI model, a spreadsheet cell, an iPhone Shortcut or a person sends dispatch the name of an action and its inputs. Dispatch looks the action up, checks the permissions and limits, runs it on the right computer, sends back the result and writes a Ledger entry. For developers: an HTTP POST of {"key": "<action name>", "args": {…}}, or the same call through MCP (Model Context Protocol, the standard way AI apps connect to outside tools).

Why one address matters for a business

One connection instead of one per tool.

Your software connects to one address and can run every action in the Directory. A new tool is a new row, not a new integration to build.

Every action is a row

Everyone uses the same actions, with the same permissions.

Your staff, your AI models, your spreadsheets and your phone call the same actions, and the same permissions and limits apply to each of them. Moving to another AI model or vendor does not mean rebuilding.

Same permissions for every caller

One place to switch an action off.

Switch an action off once and it stops for every caller at the same moment. Every call is recorded in the same way, whoever made it.

One switch per action

3The Ledger

Every request and every response is written to the Ledger, in order and in full.

The Ledger is a database table. Each entry includes a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of the entry before it, so an entry changed afterwards can be detected. Refused requests are stored too. Try it: change one word in an entry, then check the fingerprints.

Why a complete record matters for a business

See exactly what was sent.

What was sent, to whom, when and by which AI model, with the input it was given and what came back.

Settle a dispute with the record.

Nothing is silently changed: an entry edited afterwards no longer matches its fingerprint. Refused requests are stored too, so you can see what was stopped and why.

Check an AI before giving it more.

Read what an AI model did before you give it more permissions, and compare AI models on cost and results from the same record.

The AI assistant

An AI model that reads and replies to messages on your number.

It reads only what you allowed, does only what you allowed, and replies only to the people you chose. When it cannot help, it says which permission is off. It runs actions through dispatch like any other caller, so the same permissions apply, and every action it takes is written to the Ledger.

  • It replies to friends, family, leads and customers from your number, written the way you write.
  • You can text it instructions yourself: move a meeting, tell someone you are late, send a file, unlock a door.
  • Every action it takes is written to the Ledger, a record you can read.

Did you land?
Landed on time. Home by 6.

It knows where the phone is and what is on the calendar, because both are on.

Saw your ad. How much for a site?
Want 15 minutes tomorrow? I have 10:00 or 2:30.

Calendar and booking are on, so it offers real slots.

Where is my order?
Order 4821 shipped yesterday, arriving Thursday. Tracking is in the thread above this one.

Store orders is on, so it reads the store and the carrier. It reads nothing else.
